Core i7-3970X Extreme Edition Processors LGA2011 socket

After the success of several processors before Intel reportedly plans to launch a new flagship processor in the fourth quarter of this year. According to reports DonanimHaber, processor will be included in the flagship class, still use LGA2011 socket and a special edition of Core i7-3970X, or so-called Extreme Edition.

Sources also claimed that i7-3970X Extreme Edition processor comes with a clock speed of 3.5 GHz and can be increased significantly to 4 GHz with Turbo Boost feature. Besides the new flagship processor in its SKUs will feature unlocked multiplier, allowing users to over clock easily as desired.

Same as I7-3970X before, this processor is based on Sandybridge-E and built on 32 nm manufacturing process. Pack 6 cores and 12 threads with Hyper Threading technology use. This chip will have the final level cache of 15 MB, is also available a package with integrated memory controller DDR3 quad-channel, and supports memory up to 64 GB of DDR3-1600 MHz.

Intel will likely be put on the price range Core i7-3960X, because the Extreme Edition will gradually replace its predecessor.
